He was so overshadowed by his own cousin in Toronto that he left as a free agent to become a star in his own right — Tracy McGrady's 32.1 points per game in 2002–03 made him, at the time, the youngest scoring champion since the NBA-ABA merger. Born May 24, 1979, in Bartow, Florida. Height 6 ft 8 in (203 cm).
Drafted straight out of high school, 9th overall by the Toronto Raptors in 1997, "T-Mac" spent his first three seasons paired with cousin Vince Carter before signing with the Orlando Magic in 2000. He won back-to-back scoring titles there (2003, 2004), including a career-high 62-point game, before moving on to the Houston Rockets and later brief stints with the Knicks, Pistons, Hawks, and Spurs.
A seven-time All-Star, McGrady made the All-NBA First Team twice and won the Most Improved Player award in 2001. Despite his individual brilliance, his teams never advanced past the first round of the playoffs — a frequent talking point around his Hall of Fame case.
Career totals: 18,381 points (19.6 ppg), 5,276 rebounds (5.6 rpg), 4,161 assists (4.4 apg) over 938 games and 15 seasons.
