A blockbuster trade in February 2025 sent Luka Dončić from Dallas to the Los Angeles Lakers in a deal so unexpected it's still debated as one of the most shocking transactions in American sports history. Born February 28, 1999, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Height 6 ft 8 in (203 cm).
He turned pro at 16 with Real Madrid, winning EuroLeague MVP in 2018 before being drafted 3rd overall by the Atlanta Hawks in 2018 and immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks. He won NBA Rookie of the Year in 2019 and spent seven seasons in Dallas, leading the franchise in career triple-doubles and setting its single-season scoring record, before the trade to Los Angeles.
