In June 2026, after 13 seasons that turned him into a franchise icon, the Milwaukee Bucks traded Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. Born December 6, 1994, in Athens, Greece, to Nigerian parents. Height 6 ft 11 in (211 cm).
Known as the "Greek Freak," he began playing professionally for Filathlitikos in Athens before being drafted 15th overall by the Bucks in 2013 — a remarkable rise for a player who grew up selling goods on the street to help support his family. He developed into one of the most physically dominant players in the league, combining size, speed, and ball-handling in a way the NBA hadn't seen before.
Antetokounmpo won back-to-back NBA MVP awards (2019, 2020) and the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2020.
