Undrafted out of Wichita State, "Steady Freddy" spent his first NBA season in the G League before working his way into a starting role and, eventually, an NBA championship. Born February 25, 1994, in Rockford, Illinois. Height 6 ft 0 in (183 cm).
He starred at Wichita State (2012–2016), leading the team to a Final Four as a freshman and finishing as the school's career leader in assists and steals — a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. He signed with the Toronto Raptors in 2016 and became a key rotation piece as the team won its first NBA championship in 2019. He signed with the Houston Rockets in 2023.
VanVleet made his lone NBA All-Star team in 2022. Known for his toughness and clutch three-point shooting, he set a career high with 54 points in a single game in 2021.
Career totals: 14.9 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game over 550 games and 9 seasons.
