Chris Paul retired in February 2026 after 21 NBA seasons — the longest career in league history for a player who never won a championship. Born May 6, 1985, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Height 6 ft 0 in (183 cm).
Nicknamed "CP3" and "the Point God," he played at Wake Forest (2003–2005) before being drafted 4th overall by the New Orleans Hornets in 2005, winning Rookie of the Year. Over a career that spanned the Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, and a final season back with the Clippers, he built a reputation as one of the greatest playmakers the game has seen.
Paul made 12 NBA All-Star teams, won the All-Star Game MVP in 2013, and made 11 All-NBA and 9 All-Defensive teams. He led the league in assists five times and set a record by leading it in steals six times. He reached his only NBA Finals with Phoenix in 2021.
Career totals: 23,058 points (16.8 ppg), 12,552 assists (9.2 apg), 6,006 rebounds (4.4 rpg) — he finished second all-time in both career assists and steals. He won two Olympic gold medals with Team USA (2008, 2012).
