At 6-foot-7, playing alongside players many inches taller, Dennis Rodman led the NBA in rebounding for seven consecutive seasons — a run of dominance built on positioning, timing, and sheer will rather than size. Born May 13, 1961, in Trenton, New Jersey.
He played college basketball at Southeastern Oklahoma State (1983–1986) after starting at a junior college. Drafted 27th overall by the Detroit Pistons in 1986, he won two championships there as part of the "Bad Boys" (1989, 1990) before moving to the San Antonio Spurs and then the Chicago Bulls, where he won three more titles (1996–1998) alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.
Nicknamed "The Worm," Rodman won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award twice (1990, 1991) and made the All-Defensive First Team seven times. A two-time All-Star, he became as well known for his flamboyant off-court persona — colored hair, tattoos, and headline-grabbing behavior — as for his defensive dominance.
Career totals: 6,683 points (7.3 ppg), 11,954 rebounds (13.1 rpg), 1,600 assists (1.8 apg) — his rebounding rate remains among the highest of all time relative to his era.
His No. 10 was retired by the Pistons. Named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011.
