A viral dunk over a Kia sedan during the 2011 Slam Dunk Contest turned Blake Griffin into an overnight highlight-reel phenomenon before he'd even played a full NBA season — a foot injury had cost him his entire rookie year. Born March 16, 1989, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Height 6 ft 9 in (206 cm).
He won national college player of the year at Oklahoma in 2009, leading the nation in rebounding. Drafted 1st overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2009, he won Rookie of the Year in 2011 and anchored the "Lob City" era Clippers before a 2018 trade to the Detroit Pistons. He later played for the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics.
A six-time NBA All-Star, Griffin made the All-NBA Team five times combined (three Second Team, two Third Team) and won the Slam Dunk Contest in 2011.
