Selected 57th overall — second-to-last in the entire 1999 draft — Manu Ginóbili is often called the greatest draft-day steal in NBA history, a description that undersells four championships and a move he helped make mainstream. Born July 28, 1977, in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. Height 6 ft 6 in (198 cm).
He played professionally in Argentina and then Italy before joining the San Antonio Spurs in 2002, spending his entire 16-season NBA career with the franchise as part of the "Big Three" alongside Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. He popularized the Eurostep, a footwork move now used throughout basketball.
Ginóbili won four NBA championships (2003, 2005, 2007, 2014) and the Sixth Man of the Year award in 2008 — one of the few players ever to embrace a bench role at an All-Star level. A two-time NBA All-Star (2005, 2011), he led Argentina to Olympic gold in 2004, earning tournament MVP.
