A four-year, $273 million extension signed in July 2026 all but guarantees Donovan Mitchell will finish his prime in Cleveland — a franchise he led to its first conference finals appearance since 2018 that same season. Born September 7, 1996, in Elmsford, New York. Height 6 ft 2 in (188 cm).
He played two seasons at Louisville (2015–2017) before being drafted 13th overall by the Denver Nuggets in 2017 and immediately traded to the Utah Jazz, where he spent five seasons before a 2022 trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Nicknamed "Spida," Mitchell won the Slam Dunk Contest as a rookie in 2018 and has made seven consecutive NBA All-Star teams (2020–2026). He made the All-NBA First Team in 2025 and the Second Team twice, and has scored 70-plus points in a single game.
