He hit one of the most famous shots in Knicks history — a running one-hander with 0.8 seconds left that eliminated the top-seeded Heat in the 1999 playoffs and sent New York on an improbable run to the NBA Finals. Born April 20, 1971, in Louisville, Kentucky. Height 6 ft 6 in (198 cm).
He starred at Tennessee (1989–1993), a four-time All-SEC selection. Drafted 11th overall by the Detroit Pistons in 1993, he was traded to the New York Knicks in 1996, where he spent nine seasons as one of the league's premier pure shooters.
A two-time NBA All-Star (2000, 2001), Houston helped lead the Knicks to the 1999 NBA Finals. He won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA in 2000.
Career totals: 14,551 points (17.3 ppg), 2,434 rebounds (2.9 rpg), 1,990 assists (2.4 apg) over 839 games and 12 seasons.
He later became a Knicks front-office executive and general manager of the team's G League affiliate.
