A 21st overall pick who quietly built one of the most durable careers of his generation, Michael Finley became the face of the Dallas Mavericks for nearly a decade before finding a championship late in his career. Born March 6, 1973, in Melrose Park, Illinois. Height 6 ft 7 in (201 cm).
He starred at Wisconsin (1991–1995), a two-time First-Team All-Big Ten selection. Drafted 21st overall by the Phoenix Suns in 1995, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks after one season, where he spent nine years as the franchise's leading scorer alongside Dirk Nowitzki. He later played for the San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics.
A two-time NBA All-Star (2000, 2001), Finley won the NBA championship with the Spurs in 2007 and reached one more Finals with Boston in 2010 before retiring.
Career totals: 17,306 points (15.8 ppg), 4,804 rebounds (4.4 rpg), 3,245 assists (2.9 apg) over 1,103 games and 15 seasons.
He now serves in the Dallas Mavericks front office.
