Rayne Dakota "Dak" Prescott is a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, born July 29, 1993, in Sulphur, Louisiana (6'2", 227 lbs). He played college football at Mississippi State and was a fourth-round pick of the Cowboys in the 2016 NFL Draft. He's the 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, 2022 Walter Payton Man of the Year, four-time Pro Bowler, and finished second in 2023 NFL MVP voting.

Prescott was set to begin his rookie season as a backup, but an injury to starter Tony Romo in the preseason thrust him into the lineup. He responded by setting rookie records for passer rating and interception rate while leading Dallas to the NFC's top seed, sweeping Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Prescott has since become the face of the Cowboys franchise, leading the team to four division titles. His best statistical season came in 2023, when he led the league with 36 touchdown passes and posted a career-high 105.9 passer rating, finishing runner-up in MVP voting. In 2024, he signed a four-year, $240 million extension, at the time the richest contract in NFL history by average annual value.

Prescott has also been recognized for his community work, winning the 2022 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award, and has spoken openly about honoring his late mother, who died of colon cancer, and his brother Jace, who died by suicide in 2020.

Prescott ranks among the NFL's all-time leaders in completion percentage and passer rating, and in 2025 became the Cowboys' all-time leading passer, surpassing Tony Romo.
