Christian Jackson McCaffrey is a running back for the San Francisco 49ers, born June 7, 1996, in Castle Rock, Colorado (5'11", 205 lbs). He played college football at Stanford, where he set the NCAA record for all-purpose yards in a season, and was drafted 8th overall by the Carolina Panthers in 2017. He's the 2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, 2025 Comeback Player of the Year, three-time first-team All-Pro, and four-time Pro Bowler.

The son of NFL wide receiver Ed McCaffrey, Christian became a Heisman finalist and AP College Football Player of the Year at Stanford in 2015 before Carolina drafted him 8th overall. He quickly became one of the league's most versatile offensive weapons, and in 2019 became just the third player in NFL history to record 1,000 rushing and 1,000 receiving yards in the same season.

Traded to the 49ers in October 2022, McCaffrey had arguably his best season in 2023, leading the league in yards from scrimmage and touchdowns en route to the Offensive Player of the Year award and an appearance in Super Bowl LVIII, where he became the first player in Super Bowl history with 75+ rushing and 75+ receiving yards in the same game.

Injuries limited him to just four games in 2024, but he returned in 2025 with 2,126 scrimmage yards, earning the AP Comeback Player of the Year award.

McCaffrey holds numerous NFL and franchise records for receptions by a running back and touchdown production, and is regarded as one of the most complete offensive weapons of his generation.
