Roland "Champ" Bailey Jr. is a former cornerback born June 22, 1978, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky (6'0", 192 lbs). He played college football at Georgia, earning consensus All-American honors, and was drafted 7th overall by the Washington Redskins in 1999 before a blockbuster trade sent him to the Denver Broncos in 2004. He's a 12-time Pro Bowler — the most ever by a cornerback — three-time first-team All-Pro, and Pro Football Hall of Famer (2019).

At Georgia, Bailey was a rare three-way threat on offense, defense, and special teams, winning the Bronko Nagurski Trophy as the nation's top defender in 1998. Washington traded up to draft him 7th overall in 1999, and he made an immediate impact, earning Pro Bowl honors in just his second season.

In 2004, in one of the most notable trades in NFL history, Washington sent Bailey to Denver for running back Clinton Portis. Bailey flourished with the Broncos, leading the league with 10 interceptions in 2006 and becoming a perennial All-Pro shutdown corner over a decade in Denver — including a memorable 100-yard playoff interception return against the Patriots in 2006 that was, at the time, the longest non-scoring play in NFL history.

Bailey set the all-time NFL record for passes defended (203) and finished his 15-year career with 52 interceptions. He earned a franchise-record and cornerback-record 12 Pro Bowl selections, and appeared in his lone Super Bowl in his final season, a loss to Seattle in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Bailey was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019, his first year of eligibility, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest cornerbacks in NFL history.
