The highest-scoring member of the electric "Run TMC" trio, Mitch Richmond went on to have a longer, more decorated career than either Tim Hardaway or Chris Mullin, his fellow Golden State teammates. Born June 30, 1965, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Height 6 ft 5 in (196 cm).
After starting at a junior college, he played at Kansas State (1986–1988), breaking the school's single-season scoring record. Drafted 5th overall by the Golden State Warriors in 1988, he won Rookie of the Year before a 1991 trade to the Sacramento Kings, where he spent seven seasons as the franchise's marquee scorer. He later played for the Washington Wizards and closed his career with a championship season for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2002.
A six-time NBA All-Star (1993–1998), Richmond won the 1995 All-Star Game MVP and made the All-NBA Team five times combined.
Career totals: 20,497 points (21.0 ppg), 3,801 rebounds (3.9 rpg), 3,398 assists (3.5 apg) over 976 games and 14 seasons.
His No. 2 was retired by the Sacramento Kings. He won an Olympic gold medal in 1996 and a bronze in 1988. Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
