01Biography

Antonio Brown biography and NFL career overview.

Antonio Tavaris Brown Sr. is a former wide receiver born July 10, 1988, in Miami, Florida (5'10", 185 lbs). He played college football at Central Michigan and was a sixth-round pick (195th overall) of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2010 NFL Draft, later playing for the Raiders, Patriots, and Buccaneers. He's a seven-time Pro Bowler, four-time first-team All-Pro, and Super Bowl LV champion.

A walk-on at Central Michigan after a turbulent path through several schools, Brown twice earned first-team All-American honors as a punt returner and became a sixth-round steal for Pittsburgh in 2010. He developed into one of the most dominant receivers of the 2010s, leading the NFL in receptions twice and receiving yards twice, highlighted by a 136-catch, 1,834-yard 2015 season.

Over nine seasons in Pittsburgh, Brown made six straight Pro Bowls and four straight first-team All-Pro teams, forming part of the Steelers' "Killer B's" trio alongside Ben Roethlisberger and Le'Veon Bell. But his tenure ended amid growing friction with the organization, and in 2019 he was traded to the Raiders, released before playing a game, and then cut by the Patriots after one appearance amid a swirl of off-field controversies.

Brown revived his career with Tampa Bay in 2020, helping the Buccaneers win Super Bowl LV, before an infamous mid-game exit in a 2022 loss to the Jets ended his time there. He never played in the NFL again, though he attempted brief comebacks in arena football as a player-owner of the Albany Empire.

Brown finished his NFL career with 12,291 receiving yards and 83 touchdowns, but his legacy is inseparable from a long string of legal and personal controversies — including arrests, lawsuits, and an outstanding warrant related to a 2025 shooting incident in Miami.
